The Coffee Chronicles: Chapter Two – The Art of Wandering Alone

There is a specific kind of bravery in deciding to leave the house when you aren't feeling 100%. Last Friday, with a scratchy throat but the sun finally warming up Pittsburgh, I decided I couldn't stay inside. I needed "cozy."

I found myself in Mt. Lebanon, embarking on a dual-café pilgrimage.

Stop One: Orbis Caffe

My first stop was Orbis Caffe. It has this unique energy—half sophisticated bar, half neighborhood coffee haunt. I’ll admit, when I walked in, that old familiar hesitation hit me. What do I do? Where do I sit? Does everyone see me here by myself?

I pushed past it. I ordered a cappuccino and a croissant—and honestly? It was one of the best coffees I’ve had in a long time. The foam was perfect, the croissant was flaky gold, and for one hour, it was just me and my Kindle.
